Hosted Groups

St Mark's Church has a vibrant congregation who are eager to reach out to and engage with the local community.  Members of our Church host and interact with a number of groups who are open and welcoming to all.

Community Drop In

Every Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm we offer a community drop in for adults in the cafe area within the church.  Call in for a free cuppa and cake and enjoy a jigsaw or crafts while chatting to friends old and new, or spend some quiet time in the church.  Our volunteers are on hand to answers any questions, or just for a chat.

Bible discussion group

Ladies Together

This ladies group meets together every second month on the first Saturday of the month and is open to all ladies and has a diverse membership from across the Scarborough churches and communities.   We meet in the cafe area of St Mark's Church from 10.30 am and the meeting starts with refreshments and cake! (Donation £2.50)  There are a range of guest speakers who are invited to take part

Toddler's Group

Our children's worker, Jenna, runs the toddler group every Tuesday and Thursday during term time, from 10am for 2 hours in our spacious church hall.   Carers can enjoy a chat and a cuppa while supervising their children playing  in a safe environment.  (Donation £2 per family per week) All our volunteers are fully vetted (including enhanced DBS check).

House Groups

Enjoy fellowship, study and discussion in one of our House Groups.  Don and Hazel MacIver host these groups in their home on a Tuesday and a Thursday evening and all are made very welcome.  You don't need any prior knowledge or experience, just an open heart and willingness to take part.   You can find out more by contacting Don or Hazel.

Men's Breakfast Meeting

This very popular men's fellowship group meets on the first Saturday of each month in the Parish Hall of St Mary's Cloughton.  We meet at 8.30 am and the meeting starts with a cooked breakfast!  (Donation £2).  There is a guest speaker invited each month

Knit and Natter

This vibrant group of enthusiastic crafters of mixed experience meet every Tuesday in St Mark's Church Hall from 2pm - 4pm. (Donation £2 per week)  Whether you are an experienced needle worker or an absolute beginner you will be made very welcome.   Yarn and needles etc can be provided if needed.  As well as personal projects the group members work on items to donate for fundraising and charitable causes, including local charities such as the rainbow centre and to overseas missions as well as having a stall at St Mark's Summer and Christmas Fayres.
